Rapeseed is a cruciferous plant, born in the area below 3700m above sea level. Annual herbs. The fruit of rapeseed is carob. The carob is composed of three parts: fruit peck, fruit body and fruit stem. After the caryopsis matures, due to the dehydration and shrinkage of the fruit petals, it can automatically crack. The rapeseed is round or oval and consists of three parts: seed coat, embryo and endosperm traces. The chemical composition of seeds is generally nitrogen 3.9%-5.2%, protein 24.6%-32.4%, cellulose 5.7%-9.6%, ash 4.1%-5.3%, oil 37.5%-46.3%.
Rapeseed oil is abbreviated as "rape oil", which is mainly taken from the seeds of canola rapeseed and Chinese cabbage rapeseed (oil content 22%-49%, average 40%). Contains protein 21%-27%, phospholipid about 1%. These varieties of rapeseed are produced in China, India, Japan, Pakistan, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Chile, France and Canada. In Europe, the source of rapeseed oil is Brassica napus sown in winter. In Pakistan and Canada, the main source of rapeseed oil is summer-seed cabbage-type rapeseed.
